Hometown has been appointed by Bazooka Candy Brands to handle its advertising business after a three-way pitch. Bazooka's range of children's products include Mega Mouth candy spray, Juicy Drop Pop and Ring Pop.

The pressure group Fathers 4 Justice is promising to target Asda with a series of "turkey sit-ins" as part of an "occupy Asda" movement in protest at the supermarket’s Christmas advertising campaign. The pressure group believes the campaign, created by Saatchi & Saatchi, is "highly offensive and sexist" as it excludes fathers.

Paul Dunthorne, Channel 5’s director of channels and operations and the former boss of parent group Northern & Shell’s adult TV arm, has been promoted to the position of chief operating officer. Dunthorne’s promotion follows the departure of Channel 5’s director of programmes, Jeff Ford.

Nuffield Health, the health service provider, has joined with IPC’s Marie Claire to run a print ad embedded with a near field communications tag in the December issue, giving readers access to additional content on their smartphones.
